The department offers three fellowship training programs. The principal goal of these programs is to prepare academically-inclined residency graduates for their first faculty appointment.
Fellows undertake training in their subspecialty of interest and serve as junior faculty members, with a role in resident education.
The fellowship training program is part of a busy academic setting. With a large and diverse patient population, the department offers in-depth exposure to the full range of otolaryngologic disorders and surgical procedures. This is not an observational fellowship.
Fellows must possess the appropriate surgical skills and judgment to function as primary surgeon under the supervision of fellowship faculty.
Fellows also play an active role in resident education. There are numerous opportunities to participate in either basic science and/or clinical research.
